First From Julie's keyboard:
Julie became a partner with me in this blog endeavor from the very first. She is my treasure in this life and the Glory of God to me. Her short post have ministered to me each and every time. I love the way she thinks and her way with words as those thoughts are processed. She really shares her heart with you with a real genuine concern.
This week she has eight granddaughters to keep her time occupied, so I went back to the old blog and captured one of her posts from the past. She posted this Saturday, March 24, 2007.
Oh how tough it can be when someone puts a wrinkle in our daily plan. Maybe it turns out to be more than one wrinkle as in a 100% cotton garment. (Those can be the enemy of ironing!) Yet, in this day to day pace of life, we can expect what may seem to be wrinkle after wrinkle.
Almost everyone you speak with has at the least some sort of mini dilemma going on with them. There has to be answers to these stressful tones of life. Guess what? Wouldn't you know it? There certainly are answers.
Jesus Himself gave them to us when we examine His "Sermon on the Mount." It isn't popular to respond this way at all, but given a little practice, we would surely be amazed at the results. We must remember God's Word will not fail. It never returns to Him empty. It is always productive. Even if it seems it has cost us some sort of sacrifice that we squirmed a little over parting with, It is forever registered with God. Isn't that what should be all important? If we become so glued to our treadmill of society and it's schedules, we're going to miss out on God's best plan of living for us. We're going to be more and more subject to the pitfalls of this life's stress and the depressing emotional state it often carries with it.
Let's ponder these words in our hearts and be sure to measure our actions by them.
"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Give to him that asketh of thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away...."
Matt. 5:39-42

"Back to the Beginning"
On Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 11:24 AM I posted my first blog with this picture on the old blog site.
Before that I had been using a personal web page that was provided free by the internet provider I was using. Before that I was sending out emails in a Microsoft Word attachment to everyone I knew that I thought might be interested in my new found understanding of the spiritual heritage of our great country. I have grown and learned much since that time and trust I have been and instrument to shed light on the Glories of God in all his Providences concerning this nation. It was this study that began to turn me in the way I view the Bible and change my theology. I had no idea it was occurring for at that time in my Christian thought I did not even think in terms of theology. But as I viewed our Founding Fathers and began to understand how they saw their faith and their world view, I began to question many things about my faith and what I believed.
It was just prior to the first blog post while still using the personal page from the ip that I met Gene, somehow he had come across the site I was using. I have never met Gene in person, we just found a mutual love of our Country and began to converse through our post.
My dear friend Gene, I have no Idea if you are still reading this blog, I have not heard from you in along time. The last time you and I talked you had been influenced by Thomas Paine and his "Age of Reason" and shared with me you had abandoned your Christian faith. I wanted to talk with you more, but you seemed determined to follow your reason and understanding. I looked back on our acquaintance and see the many hurts you have experienced in life. I'm sure there are more than I am aware of, but the one's I know about makes me aware you seem to have experienced more than most. My dear friend, I have not forgotten about you, I would desire to hear from you again.

Then there is you Anonymous, I never new your real name, you just showed up on the old blog to harass me I thought. You got under my skin and did provoke me. Your atheism angered me, sometimes my responses were something less than kindness.
But as time progressed, I grew to understand you a little better, I think I would have even called you my friend. I don't know if you would come along that far are not, but none the less I have missed you since we have lost contact. The last time we talked you shared with me you had just lost your young son, his death had devastated you. I remember I wanted to talk with you about it, but you said maybe later when it didn't hurt so bad. I have not heard from you since. That has been several years ago now, I don't suppose you will ever cross my path again, but if Providence does see to Guide you to read this, I have not forgotten and trust the grief has now become bearable. It would be a pleasure to talk to my old Atheist friend again.
John, I haven't forgotten about you either, I have not heard from you in a great while, I trust you are still out there. I never got to know you as well as Gene and Anonymous, but would enjoy hearing from you again.

To the rest of you that have never commented or I have never met, and those of you who are my friends and have put up with me over the years, I am thankful for you and the interest you have in our Nation and the love of God we share.
I am thinking about changing the focus of the blog for a short period time. I have a few minutes at our Church to share before the service begins and I am considering sharing some biography of men of faith whom God used in History, if I do, I think I want to share that here with you also. I think it still bares with the core purpose of why I take the time to write this blog. Sometimes I have wonder if it is worth that time, but then I come and write again and someone seems to always read it. It belongs to God as I do, and He can do with either as He pleases.
May the Grace of God be upon each of you,
David
